What is Shot Blasting?
Shot blasting is a technique used to finishing metal surface to clean, strengthen or polish. Shot blasting is used in various industries that uses metal parts, including aerospace, automobile, Metal construction, foundry, shipyard, rail, and spare part manufacturers in many others. There are two types of techniques used: wheel blasting or air blasting / wet blasting.
Types of Shot Blasting:
Wheel blasting:
Wheel blasting is uses an electric motor power that helps to rotate a turbine wheel. The capacity of each blasting wheel goes for almost 60 kg per minute up to 1200kg/min. With these large numbers of boosting abrasive, wheel blasting machines are used where big size of metal parts or large area of parts have to be desanded, descaled, derusted, deburred or cleaned in some method.
Air Blasting and Wet Blasting:
Air assisted blasting can take the form of a blast container, the blasting material is pneumatically speed up by compressed air treated by nozzles onto the Surface component. For special treatments, an air and water mix can be used, this is called wet blasting.

Wet Blasting (Air Assisted Blasting):
In both air and wet blasting the blast nozzles can be implemented in fixed positions or can be operated manually or by automatic nozzle operators or robots. The blasting task determines the choice of the abrasive equipment, in most cases any type of dry or free running abrasive material can be used.
